Makeup Tips: Getting more for less

Makeup is an expensive accessory that most of us need for different reasons,  while it is fun to play with it also drains our accounts a little.

So I suggest some idea’s that may help you to further your makeup’s uses and therefore increase your looks and collection.

It is fairly simple just a little of thinking outside the box which some of you may already do but here are a few tips anyway ;)

  • Lipstick : Why don’t you try just a hint of lippy on your cheeks, used like rouge simply dab a few dots on your cheeks and rub in with your finger, remember as always less is best, you can always add more but it is not as easy to tone it down.  By doing this you have doubled your range of blushes.
  • Lip Liner : How about trying all your lipliner’s with different lipstick’s this changes the colour tone of your lippy and therefore giving you a bigger range.  Also try using your lipliner all over your lips and add a little gloss in clear or a light colour for shine and blending.
  • Blush : Try using your blushes lightly on your eyes as eyeshadow.
  • Highlighter : Some eyeshadow quads or trio’s have a light shade in them which most people use on their eyes only, why dont you try lightly brushing these light colours over the top part of your cheek, just under your eye.  This highlights the cheeks and enhances your natural shape.

Have fun experimenting with your products and discovering all the looks your missing out on.

Good luck and enjoy xx

Makeup Tip: Cool or warm shade?

A helpful trick to find out if you are a cool or warm shade of foundation is to check out your veins!

I know, it’s ok, there is no self harm involved, just turn the palm of your hand up and along your forearm you can see through your skin.

If the colour of your veins is greenish then you suit a warm beige tone foundation.

If the colour of your veins is bluish then you suit a cooler pink tone foundation.

This is all well and good if you stay natural but if your loving the fake tan then find a foundation to match your tan.

Good luck and enjoy xx

Makeup Tip: All day makeup

If you have an all day event coming up and you want your makeup to go the distance, try these two simple tricks:

  1. Use a primer under your foundation. This will act like a glue for your makeup while also making your skin smooth- I recommend Napoleon Perdis Auto pilot primer.
  2. Once you have completed your look finish off with a light spray of water to set your makeup.  Don’t spray too close, you want a fine mist not a shower! – I recommend Evian brumisatuer facial spray found at David Jones and Priceline stores.

Good luck and enjoy xx
